Lenny Cavallaro
Lenny Cavallaro is a true “Renaissance man” — an author, as well as a concert pianist, composer, hypnotist, karate black belt, chess enthusiast (and “wood-pusher”), futsal referee, and philosopher. He is also devoutly convinced that digital publishing is the wave of the future (cf., JanusLiteraryAgency.com).
Cavallaro co-authored his first book (PERSONA NON GRATA) with chess grandmaster Viktor Kortchnoi. He has since written a novel (TROJAN DIALOGUES: THE MEMOIRS OF DIOMEDES), a novella (THE GREATEST CHAMPION WHO NEVER WAS), a novelette (SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE MURDER OF ALEKHINE), and a one-act play (HAMLET REVISITED), and also co-authored SOLVED: THE MYSTERY OF THE “GENERAL ARNOLD” and the updated Kortchnoi saga, SUPERSTITION AND SABOTAGE. Most of these titles are available for Kindle.
In addition, Cavallaro “edited and revised” PAGANINI’S FIRE, by Ann Abelson, and wrote the Forewords to the same author’s A SLOW TRAIN TO BUDAPEST, Parts One and Two. He is listed as editor of several other Amazon titles.
Cavallaro was a top prize-winner in the Bach International Competition for Pianists and subsequently earned the highest critical acclaim in his Carnegie Recital Hall debut. As a composer, he audaciously adheres to 18th and 19th century styles and harmonic idioms. His violin sonata, written in baroque style, was debuted in Lincoln Center. Ten volumes of his music have been released by Forton Music, Broadbent & Dunn, and Ayotte Music, and can be heard on his Youtube channel.
Away from the keyboards (computer and piano), Cavallaro served as president of the International Society for Professional Hypnosis and also a reiki practitioner. Avocational pursuits include chess (champion of New Haven, 1967), karate (3rd degree black belt), and a passion for “real football” (i. e., soccer; he continued to referee the indoor variant, futsal, well into his 60s!). Cavallaro is the father of two adult children.
