The pleasure and thrill of indie publishing is doing what others say you can’t. So, I’ll begin by saying: Everyone tells others “how to do it.” Like any art form, writing belongs to the creator; it’s how they “see it.” It’s how they want their inner feelings to be received by the observer, the reader. Between the front and back cover are three original novellas—the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else—that are just waiting for you to discover.
Have siblings? “The Other Vincent” is for you. Three senior citizens—one sister and two brothers— embark on a quest to unearth their father, figuratively speaking, by exchanging memories of him while growing up seventy years ago and discover that each one knew him differently!
Enjoy mysteries? “Inheritance” presents two well- known world figures conceived somewhere out there and then spiritually separated and banished for disobeying their father. Eons later they return but don’t recognize each other. As they reacquaint, he admits to having canceled his “inherited debt” but she is back to get even with her father by pitting men against each other.
Are you truly open-minded? In “Others Know Only What I Care to Tell Them”, a reclusive child writer prodigy faces a midlife crisis when a young man in the produce aisle in Fairway recognizes who he is and begs him to document his life, especially since he’s just been told he’s dying of cancer. The writer, though intrigued, declines. But this particular stranger knows two issues that secretly plague them both, so he entices: “You teach me to trust, I’ll teach you to commit.” And their journey begins.
Hang on, I’ve just opened a fortune cookie …. “Your keen sense of humor will make you many friends.” So who needs critics? Buy the book!
