Meet the Author: W.G. (Bill) Williams

W.G. “Bill” Williams is a writer, broadcaster, educator, and lifelong communicator with a talent for making people laugh and think at the same time. He began his career in media while putting himself through Texas Tech University, working as a photographer and reporter for the local newspaper and at the campus radio and TV stations. With a BA and MA in broadcasting and journalism, Bill also taught photojournalism, public speaking, and broadcast history as a graduate student.

His professional journey spans academia, public broadcasting, federal communications, and even financial advising. He directed university television systems in Texas and Ohio, produced dramatic programming for PBS affiliate KLRN, and taught graduate-level television courses. In Washington, DC, he founded a successful media consulting firm, serving clients ranging from federal agencies to the White House and the Secret Service. He later became FEMA’s first Director of News and Information, working through major national events such as the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, the eruption of Mt. St. Helens, and the Cuban refugee crisis.

Bill also served as national president of the Independent Media Producers’ Association and helped shape legislation supporting independent creators. Along the way, he taught advanced television news production at the University of Maryland, lobbied on behalf of media professionals, and raised a family after moving back to Ohio for a quieter life and a second career as a Registered Investment Advisor.

Now semi-retired, Bill has turned his attention to sharing the best of what the internet has offered over the last two decades—its weirdest, wisest, and most wonderful moments.

If you’re searching for a humor book filled with internet oddities, clever commentary, and quirky gems, you’ve come to the right place.
